I've always loved hair. The versatility, the transformation, the way a wig can tell your whole story without you saying a word. I've been experimenting with wigs and exploring different styles since 2018, and when I moved to Toronto from Lagos in 2023, I quickly realized something was missing. Back home, getting your hair prepped for a wig or styling a unit was easy, accessible, and stress-free. Here? You're waiting days, booking months ahead, or sitting for hours just to get basic services done. That didn't sit right with me.
I'm building The Strand Haus to give Toronto girls the same experience Lagos girls have. Easy access to wig care without the hassle. This brand is built on relatability. It's a personal pain point I'm solving, not just for me, but for every girl who's tired of the struggle. Looking good shouldn't be that difficult, and if we're serious about taking care of our hair, these services need to be accessible.
What I love about this work is the transformation. A wig starts out looking dry and limp, like you can't make anything out of it. But then you go through the process: washing, treating, conditioning, styling. By the end, it's transformed into something beautiful. Every wig has a story waiting to be told, and I'm here to help you tell yours.
This journey has always been about the girls, friends I've made because of the wigs I wore. A community built on the foundation of one question: "Where did you get your hair?" That's why I named it The Strand Haus, representing hair, strength, and connection. The Haus is a collective, our collective, built for the girls who take their hair seriously.
